The Burnside investigation first mentioned here in July has yet to provide an outcome. The ABC reports that the deadline for the report has now been exteded to January. The former auditor-general, Ken McPherson, has been looking into allegations of bullying, harassment and undue influence and was due to report by the end of October.
Local Government Relations Minister Gail Gago has told the South Australian Parliament that Mr McPherson expects his investigation is now likely to take a further four months. So far, he has received up to 65,000 pages of documentation and conducted seven formal interviews, taking on average six hours each.
